Going Backward In Order To Go Forward

I'm not burning out... I'm not taking a break... I'm... I'm not sure what to call what I'm doing. If you've been following and enjoying my blog, you've probably noticed that I haven't posted in a while. This is because I'm stupid. Or perhaps, because I'm so hungry to "do all the things" that I haven't been able to do this "one thing".  I don't want to say that I've bitten off too much , although I'm sure my family would disagree. I pride myself on being able to multi-task at a level that air traffic controllers and parents of octuplets would admire. I've given myself a massive amount of workload (above my day-job) in the name of growing my channel. Mondays Uploading the next Dungeon Studios podcast episode to YouTube (if it wasn't done on Sunday) 1-2 recording sessions for Dungeon Studios podcasts (The Game & Nerd Newz) Tuesdays Video Editing OR Video Recording for various projects Outreach for p...

Q1 2024 Update

Image
Blah, blah, blah. As much as I know you're eagerly awaiting the next installment of my Jerry Springer Chronicles , I need a moment to look back at the first quarter of 2024 .... before the second quarter is over.  The busy-ness of the Perty Nerdy business has become snow-ballingly ... busy. (I'm a writer, right? Meh ... whatever.) Fine, let me rephrase. When 2024 started, I created a vision board for Perty Nerdy . There's a goal in sight. Or multiple goals, really. What better way to make sure that I'm on track than to look back and see what I've accomplished so far. The year started off with a bang as one of the more difficult goals of being on a convention panel sort of ... fell into my lap. You can watch that story unfold with the video above. The entire experience was unreal!  Word to the wise, participating on a panel is intoxicating - it will immediately make you want to do more and make them bigger and better! Also new this year, I started creating "...

My Husband's Ex Birthed a Mini-Me and Not a Mini-Her | Jerry Springer Chronicles #3

Image
...Continuing the Jerry Springer Chronicles , today's entry examines how my husband's ex-girlfriend, my best friend, magically mystically miraculously birthed MY daughter. Wanna know how?  Great! Me too! I'd love to figure out how a witty and introverted well-manicured blond had MY mini-me ... a loud & goofy extrovert with a dark sense of humor, an impeccably kooky fashion sense, and a devil-may-care approach to her appearance. Personally, I think everyone should sport mismatched socks with crazy leggings and unicorn/cat sweaters . It builds character! You might think Sammy has somehow turned into me by osmosis - nature vs. nurture and all that.  I assure you, she has been her own person all her life without any help from me. If anything, I gain comfort knowing that someone like me can grow from other home life situations.  You see, I've always had a quirky sense of ... well, everything. I thought it might be a product of my youth. I ran away from home young so t...

The Twins my Husband's Ex-Girlfriend & I Had Together | Jerry Springer Chronicles #2

Image
Have you ever planned with your best friend to get pregnant at the same time so you could experience the bloated hormonal ups and downs together? Have you ever decided to secretly break that pact because you like naked-boning your husband and protected sex after two years of marriage is not arousing? And then, did you still end up pregnant with your best friend because she also secretly broke the pact? Even when we lie to each other, we’re still on the same page. THAT’S true friendship, right? Let’s analyze.  If you haven’t read my first post about “How my best friend’s ex became my husband” I encourage you to because this particular relationship is winding and strange and delightfully complex. The over-simplified summary is this: Sean dated Amy Sean told me she said that we should be together if they ever broke up Amy repeated those sentiments the next day They continued to date until one day they didn’t Everyone thought we should date except for us He liked me but I had no conc...

Unveiling Scenes from Minor Keys because ... Chickens.

Image
I know, I know. You were expecting my introductory story (Part 2 of 3) in which I describe how my husband's ex-girlfriend and I planned to have babies together and how she had my daughter. That story is coming, I promise. Chickens. Chickens are the reason for this week's blog re-route. (left to right) Sideshow Barbara, Ruby, Betty, Marge, Lavernne We have a little urban homestead, on which we currently raise 17 chickens. Because we sell our overstock, I have a customer that I drop eggs off to weekly. In front of her house is a free book library . Apparently, it's popular enough that someone turned it into a Pokestop on Pokemon Go .  It struck me that I have a pile of books. A pile of books with my published short story in it. A pile of books just sitting in my office, collecting dust. Folks, my brain is smart. But not smart enough to have thought about putting my book in there.... until today. I can spare a dusted off copy for this adorable little library. Free library and...

Tequila & Kung Pow: How My Best Friend's Ex-Boyfriend Became My Husband | Jerry Springer Chronicles #1

Image
It's Saturday, the unspoken day I decided would be a blogging day. (Don't hold me to this, folks. I could decide on a whim to blog seven days a week or once per month. Heck, I might vary it for ya just to keep you on your toes!) While I have a vague internal outline of the many posts and stories I want to share on this platform, the daunting task of deciding which will be my first is ... well ... daunting.  In my first post, I mentioned some personal details - partly for the "shock" factor, but mostly because I WANT my audience to get to know me. All of me. Even the embarrassing parts of me. I don't share those details on other platforms because "algorithms".  If you're reading this, you're probably eager to hear those stories. Of the three I teased, the one that would give you the best idea of who I am starts with my husband's ex-girlfriend, Amy. This is a LONG story that will come in three parts. Today, you're getting Part 1.  Sean ...
